Bringing Stories to Life: A Literary Journey Across Borders
At KGS Foundation – Service For All, we believe in the transformative power of literacy. Our initiative aims to bridge cultures, preserve heritage, and foster a love for reading among children in both rural USA and rural India. Through this initiative, we embark on a literary journey to share the rich tapestry of stories that have been passed down through generations, celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of India’s 28 states while also nurturing literacy in rural Colorado, USA.
Initiative in Rural India:
In India, we are dedicated to preserving and sharing the cultural heritage of each of the 28 states. Our goal is to create beautifully illustrated children’s books based on traditional stories from these states. These stories, deeply ingrained in the fabric of Indian culture, will be presented in both the local language of the state and in English, ensuring accessibility to a wider audience.
These books will then be distributed to rural villages across India, reaching children who may have limited access to educational resources. By introducing children to these stories in their local languages, we aim to instill a sense of pride in their cultural heritage while simultaneously fostering literacy and a love for reading.
Initiative in Rural Colorado, USA:
In rural Colorado, we extend our commitment to literacy by donating these culturally rich children’s books to schools in underserved communities. By sharing these stories with children in rural Colorado, we not only provide access to diverse literature but also promote cultural awareness and understanding.
