At KGS Foundation – Service For All, our mission is to foster unity, promote education, alleviate hunger, raise awareness, provide emergency relief, support mental well-being, empower educators, facilitate sustainable social and vocational development, and promote literacy. Since our inception in June 2003, we have been dedicated to creating positive change and building a brighter future for all through our diverse range of initiatives.

Our Initiatives:

Unity Restoration Project!

Through our Unity Restoration Project, we aim to strengthen the fabric of our communities by revitalizing shared spaces and fostering a sense of belonging among residents. Research shows that community cohesion and access to shared spaces contribute to overall well-being and social connectedness (Putnam, 2000; Holt-Lunstad et al., 2010).

FOOD BANKING

Through our Food Banking initiative, we address food insecurity and hunger by partnering with restaurants, retailers, and food businesses to distribute surplus food to those in need. Studies have shown that access to nutritious food is essential for physical health, cognitive development, and academic success, particularly among children (Gundersen & Ziliak, 2015; Taras & Potts-Datema, 2005).

STEM Table Initiative

Our STEM Table For Kids initiative seeks to ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among young learners. Research demonstrates that early exposure to STEM education fosters critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and academic achievement, leading to greater opportunities in the future (National Research Council, 2011; Maltese & Tai, 2011).

Awareness Campaign:

Our Awareness Campaigns aim to raise awareness and educate the public on pressing social issues, including poverty, hunger, homelessness, and environmental sustainability. Research suggests that raising awareness and promoting public engagement are crucial steps in addressing social challenges and driving positive change (Kollmuss & Agyeman, 2002; Moser & Dilling, 2004).

Literacy Initiative:

Our Literacy Initiative promotes literacy and a love for reading among children and communities. Research indicates that literacy skills are fundamental for academic success, economic empowerment, and social mobility, highlighting the importance of literacy promotion efforts (UNESCO, 2019; Heath & Mangiola, 2011).

Meditation with Rita

Meditation with Rita promotes mental well-being and mindfulness among individuals of all ages. Research indicates that mindfulness practices such as meditation can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while enhancing overall emotional well-being and resilience (Kabat-Zinn, 2003; Hofmann et al., 2010).

EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAM

In times of crisis, our Emergency Relief Program provides vital support to individuals and communities affected by natural disasters, conflicts, and humanitarian crises. Studies have shown that timely and coordinated emergency response efforts are essential for saving lives, protecting livelihoods, and supporting recovery efforts (UNDP, 2019; IFRC, 2015).

Vinod Bhanwarlal Somani Education Grant

The Vinod Bhanwarlal Somani Education Grant supports educational organizations committed to promoting robotics and coding education. Research suggests that STEM education, including robotics and coding, fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, preparing students for success in the 21st-century workforce (National Science Board, 2015; Bybee, 2010).

Sustainable Vocational & Social Development Programs:

Our Sustainable Vocational & Social Development Programs empower individuals without stable housing by providing employment opportunities and support services. Research shows that stable employment and access to vocational training are essential for reducing homelessness, promoting economic independence, and enhancing social inclusion (Fazel et al., 2014; Neale et al., 2019).
