Annual STEM Table Event

Inspiring Young Minds Through Hands-On Exploration

At KGS Foundation – Service For All, we believe the future begins at the table—The STEM Table.

Our Annual STEM Table Event is a one-of-a-kind educational experience designed to ignite curiosity, confidence, and creativity in elementary students, particularly those from underrepresented and underserved communities. Through a series of hands-on, interactive workshops led by local businesses, educators, and STEM professionals, young learners are introduced to real-world concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in a fun, accessible, and inspiring environment.

More than an event—it’s a spark. A spark that we hope will light the way toward future careers, empowered learning, and limitless potential.

The Power of Early Exposure

Research shows that early exposure to STEM concepts increases the likelihood that students—especially girls and children from minority and low-income backgrounds—will pursue STEM fields later in life. Yet, many children never get the chance to connect with these subjects outside of a classroom or textbook.

The STEM Table Event changes that.

By bringing STEM to life through real tools, real professionals, and real conversations, we offer young minds a chance to see themselves as inventors, coders, engineers, biologists, architects, designers, and leaders. We don’t just teach them what STEM is—we show them why it matters and how they belong in it.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

ANTI-FOOD WASTE

One of our essential roles is to raise social awareness regarding the amount of food that goes waste and could otherwise feed many underprivileged individuals in the country.

KGS Foundation creates partnerships with hotels, restaurants, and food businesses to connect their excess food to beneficiaries. In 2024, our vision is to provide restaurants with foil trays in order to pack the UNTOUCHED food from the main buffet to be distributed to the nearest NGO or area with underprivileged individuals. We also provide workshops and training for their staff on reducing their food waste footprint.

What Happens at the STEM Table Event

Each year, our event features:

  • Interactive stations and mini-workshops hosted by local businesses and STEM professionals
  • Activities such as building circuits, launching rockets, coding games, robotics demos, 3D printing, environmental science labs, and more
  • A keynote speaker—someone who has built a meaningful career in STEM and can share a personal, relatable journey with students
  • Opportunities for students to ask questions, explore careers, and discover new interests in a hands-on, low-pressure setting

We design the event to be inclusive, engaging, and culturally responsive, ensuring that every child feels welcome and empowered to participate.

We also involve families and educators, recognizing the critical role they play in encouraging continued STEM exploration beyond the event itself.

Business & Community Involvement

A unique feature of our event is its strong partnership with local businesses and community organizations. Rather than relying solely on academic demonstrations, we invite real-world professionals to lead stations that connect what students are learning to real careers and industries.

Whether it’s a software engineer showcasing basic coding, an architect walking students through a design challenge, or a food scientist exploring the chemistry of baking—these partnerships make STEM tangible.

We’re always seeking new collaborators who want to:

  • Host a hands-on demo or workshop
  • Sponsor materials, food, or giveaways
  • Provide speakers or mentors
  • Donate toward transportation for students from underserved schools

Supporting Students Beyond the Event

While the Annual STEM Table Event serves as a major touchpoint for inspiration and exploration, our commitment to education doesn’t stop there.

When funds permit, KGS Foundation offers scholarships to support:

  • College students with financial assistance for room, board, tuition, or essential academic expenses
  • K–12 students to participate in STEM programs, camps, and enrichment activities they might not otherwise be able to afford

These scholarships are awarded based on need and potential, and are designed to remove barriers to educational access—empowering students to continue exploring their passions long after the event is over.

By investing in students at both ends of the educational journey, we help bridge gaps and build pathways from inspiration to action, from curiosity to career.

The Long-Term Vision

Our long-term goal is to expand the STEM Table Event into a traveling or regional program, bringing it to more schools and cities over time. We hope to:

  • Host multiple events annually across different communities
  • Create a portable STEM Table toolkit for schools or libraries to use year-round
  • Develop a mentorship network connecting students with STEM professionals who can support their growth
  • Secure ongoing funding for our scholarship program to ensure we never have to turn away a deserving student due to financial constraints

With the right support, we believe the STEM Table can be a national model for early STEM engagement and inclusive opportunity.

How You Can Help

We invite you to become a part of the STEM Table movement. Whether you’re an educator, business leader, parent, donor, or volunteer—your involvement makes a difference.

You can support us by:

  • Sponsoring a student scholarship
  • Donating materials or funding to expand our events
  • Hosting a workshop or station at the event
  • Providing student transportation
  • Serving as a speaker, mentor, or event volunteer

Every effort, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal: a world where every child has the opportunity to explore, grow, and lead in the fields that will shape our collective future.

At the STEM Table, Everyone Has a Seat

At KGS Foundation – Service For All, we believe education is a right, curiosity is a gift, and opportunity should never be limited by income or background.

The Annual STEM Table Event is our way of building a more inclusive, creative, and prepared generation—one hands-on experience at a time.

We welcome you to join us at the table.

How It Works

Volunteers will be gently trained to provide companionship through:

  • Simple conversation and active listening
  • Reading, music, or prayer (according to individual comfort and beliefs)
  • Presence during critical hours of passing
  • Regular visits to residents facing chronic loneliness or end-of-life care
  • Collaborations with nursing homes, hospice programs, and shelter homes

While there is no required certification, volunteers will receive orientation, emotional preparedness materials, and ongoing support to help navigate the emotional aspects of this service. The program will also offer reflective circles for volunteers to process their experiences and foster a community of mutual care.

Hunger Affects An Individual In Various Ways:

The increase in the number of people suffering from poverty and hunger in return affects society as a whole. Lack of sufficient nutrition on an individual result in social issues on at communal level. The following cases tend to occur

Crime percentages shall rise as a result of the lack of income

A father would forbid his children from attending their schools which will increase illiteracy.
Forcing kids to work in an early age which will result in depriving them living a normal childhood
